Public Warning System


All-Hazards Radios


The OEM highly recommends everyone keep at least one NOAA All-Hazards Weather Radio with Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) capability in your home and workplace. These radios can be programmed to automatically deliver severe weather watches and warnings affecting the places you care about.

CodeRED Reverse 911 System


Another great warning tool available in Jefferson County is the CodeRED notification system. This is run through Jefferson County 911 and can be used to send significant emergency information to your phone, including severe weather notifications. It’s also completely free of charge! You must sign up for this service through Jefferson County 911 either on their website at or by calling the dispatch center at 636-797-9797.

Jefferson County does not have an outdoor warning siren system though some of its municipalities do.
