Did you know?

Thomas C Fletcher was Missouri's first native born governor.  Fletcher,  was a native of Herculaneum and served as Jefferson County Circuit Clerk in 1850.  Governor Daniel Dunklin is well known for introducing the public school system to Missouri.  Dunklin, a native of Tennessee, lived in Potosi and  and is buried on the old family homestead in Herculaneum. Jeremiah 'Jay' Nixon was elected governor in 2008.  Nixon was a local attorney from DeSoto and later served as State Senator for Jefferson County.
