Jefferson County Adopts New Liquor License Ordinance

Proof of all Jefferson County taxes paid now required by applicant beginning February 1, 2011. No license shall be issued without proper proof. View the entire ordinance (PDF). Call 636-797-5039 for questions.

A copy of the current year Merchant’s License is required.

Proof of Taxes Paid

Check for proof of taxes paid.

If you do not possess your original paid receipts, you may access the Jefferson County Property Tax Inquiry portal and print the tax payment information; we will accept this as proof of taxes paid. If you are unable to retrieve this information from the Collector’s site, give them a call at 636-797-5406.

Liquor, Picnic & Caterer License

If you have applied for a state liquor license you must also apply for a County liquor license.

For the Incorporated Areas of Jefferson County:

  1. First apply to the city where the event is being held.
  2. Second apply to the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue at 314-416-6280.
  3. Upon receipt of the city and state liquor licenses, bring the licenses to the Department of the County Clerk.
  4. Jefferson County will issue the County liquor license(s) upon receiving a license from the city and state.
  5. The license fee may be paid with cash or a check made payable to the County Treasurer.

We will issue the County liquor license(s) from the city and the state license(s). We accept cash or check made payable to the County Treasurer.

We will issue the County picnic liquor license from the city liquor license(s) or letter and the state picnic liquor license.

For the Unincorporated Area of Jefferson County:

  1. Upon receipt of the state liquor license bring the license(s) to the Department of the County Clerk.
  2. We will issue the County liquor license(s) from the state license(s).
  3. The license fee may be paid with cash or a check made payable to the County Treasurer.
  4. Jefferson County will issue the County picnic liquor license(s) from the state picnic liquor license(s).
