Training in Youth Coaching is available through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. This Association, founded in 1981, has certified over a million coaches in the United States and abroad with the goal of "Making Sports Fun For Kids."
At the end of the season, our three objectives for each child in our sports program are:
Did the child have fun?
Did the child learn and progress in their chosen sport?
Do they want to come back and play again?
NYSCA is here to help us meet these objectives. Through this program, coaches learn the special skills it takes to be a successful youth coach and that, in the end, wins and losses don't even compare to the values of sportsmanship, hard work, and teamwork taught through participation in youth sports. The cost for this 3.5 hour certification clinic is only $25 per coach.
If you, or coaches in your league, are interested in getting your coaches certified, Email or contact us at the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Department and we'll set up a clinic for your league. |
