You can step back in time at the Fletcher House. Built in 1851 by Thomas E. Fletcher (Missouri's first native-born Governor, and Friend of the Sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln), this structure provides a snap shot of Missouri's past. You can talk with Governor Fletcher, Mrs. Fletcher, President Lincoln, the house maid, and the house cook at the annual Ghost Walk. This special event, held each October, is not a haunted house. It is designed to make the past come alive and to teach Missouri History.
The Fletcher House is operated as a "House Museum" through the cooperative efforts of the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Department and the Fletcher House Foundation. You can tour this facility in groups of 5 to 30. Many history classes tour this facility each year as part of their curriculum.
Fee: No charge. Tours given on scheduled basis. Contact the Park office for details.
