This facility provides you with picnicking, fishing and swimming opportunities on the Big River. The old mill and dam are overlooking the fast flowing water dropping over rocks while anglers pull in Crappie and Small Mouth Bass. This is a good location to launch your canoe or inner tubes for a 9.8-mile float to Rockford Beach.
Fee: Park security is provided during selected hours. As a result, a parking and security fee is collected during specified times. State fishing regulations are imposed.
A "Patrons of the Parks" pass is available to all Jefferson County residents that are 55 years and over and/or are Veterans of our Armed Services. For a one time $5 fee, the cardholder and anyone else in their vehicle can enter any Jefferson County park facility at no charge. Contact any park cashier or our Park office for details.
NOTICE: The Big River is a swift moving stream. Strong currents produce dangerous swimming conditions. Life guards are not on duty. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK!
