The Public Adminstrator's Office contacts Jefferson County nursing or residential care facilities to get names of those residents who have no family members or friends in their lives. In turn, staff then seeks assistance from County officeholders, judges, attorneys, doctors, banks, and civic organizations so that these residents receive Christmas gifts. Beneficiaries of this program include not only Wards of our office, but any needy resident of participating County facilities.

We are proud to say that Jefferson Countians have been extremely generous for these nursing home residents, with donation of gifts and money in 2000 providing a happy Christmas for over 350 people.
