Do you offer day-camps for children?
Unfortunately, we no longer offer a day-camp program. In the past, we offered an extended hours program that allowed for working families to send their children to our camp program. New regulations by the state Department of Health forced the County to discontinue of this once popular program.
Do you have football, baseball or softball?
Football is currently not offered, but adult softball is offered in the spring at our newly constructed Northwest Jefferson County Sports Complex. The House Springs American Legion currently uses our fields for their baseball program. We do offer basketball, in-line hockey, golf and soccer for youth. See here for more details.
How do I
rent a pavilion in Arnold Park?
You would need to contact the City of Arnold Parks and Recreation Department at 636-282-2380.
Why do I have to pay a user fee to get into the parks when I pay my taxes?
This is necessary to help pay for extra protection for the patrons that use the facilities. The average home owner pays $5.00 per year in property taxes to the Parks Department. This amount is not sufficient to address the maintenance and other costs associated with the County parks.
How much of my tax dollars goes to the Jefferson County Parks Department?
The tax money this Department receives is based upon a tax rate of three cents per $100 of assessed valuation of your property. The amount you pay each year depends upon the value of your home. For example, an actual tax bill select a district from below. Your tax area may not be represented.

Where is your swimming pool located?
We do not operate a swimming pool facility. There are several outdoor and indoor swimming pools located in the County.
How many State Parks do you take care of?
We only operate parks owned by Jefferson County. To obtain information concerning state parks, call 636- 464-2976.

Do you have free mulch for the public?
No, we use our mulch on the walking trails in County parks.
