Board of Equalization

 The Jefferson County Board of Equalization hears appeals of citizens who question the current assessed value of their property.  Before requesting a hearing before the Board of Equalization, contact the Assessor's Office and review the information on file to determine if it accurately represents your property.  If, after discussing your property caluation with the Assessor's Office, the property owner is not satisfied, an appeal may be filed by contacting the County Clerk's Office at 636-797-5478.  Appeals must be filed before the second Monday in July of each year.
