Animal Control Division

The Animal Control Division is committed to the enhancement of responsible pet ownership for all animals.  We respond to requests for service regarding stray animals running at large, animal neglect and abuse, injured animals and wild animals inside a home.  We investigate livestock complaints and rescue domestic animals caught in life threatening conditions.  We also maintain a "lost & found" canine and feline list of animals reported to us.

We are pleased to announce that on August 6, 2010, we received our new universal micro-chip reader.  The universal reader helps us to identify the owner of family pets, implanted with an identifying micro-chip, and reunite the pet with their owner.  Our staff will be able to perform a full-body scan of every animal to determine if they have the micro-chip implant.

The Jefferson County Animal Control Division is located at 7105 Shelter Road, Barnhart, MO.  Click here for map to our facility.
